#EndorseThis: Bill Maher Guest Explains Why Trump Pardons Fail

President Trump is (sort of) trying to reverse the White House narrative on race. He has pardoned or otherwise granted clemency to three people of color in a row, and floated the idea of many more pardons. Trump is even interested in pardoning Muhammad Ali, though experts agree the move would be a pointless publicity stunt.

But there’s a bigger problem. Only one of the three pardons was a legitimate humanitarian freeing of a black woman, Alice Marie Johnson. Another was Dinesh D’Souza, a political ally of Trump’s, and another was Jack Johnson, a deceased boxer.
